This is an entry for *sweetcarlotta 's Winged ContestThere really is no actually story I had in mind with this piece. It had many different backgrounds that changed quite a bit. But I finally settled on this one. The background which is from =sithean-stock reminded me of Ireland or ontop of a mountain some where. Not too many brushes were used with this. The plants growing ontop of the old decaying building walls is from `spiritsighs . Some other brushes of her used on this were the lightning, the rain, and the wings.
The model is the hostess of the contest, *sweetcarlotta .

I think too many ppl judge images just by the impression that the thumbnail makes. In the case of yours , in the thumbnail because the girl is so bright and 'clean' compared to the background it gives the impression that she is just pasted on. But when looked at fullsize you have done a very good job of blending her in with the grass etc.
Perhaps it you were to make her a bit 'greyer' ( I nearly said 'dirtier' then

Oh No no.. I know what you are saying.. Hmm, I never thought of that. I think I worked on it so much that by the end I was just like whatever. It is the little things like that.. that can make a whole hell of a difference. Maybe I will rework it a bit when I have a chance and see if that improves it any. Something I've learnt myself these days with my own account is not always to post something as soon as I think its finished. I try and leave it for a week ofr so and then come back to it afresh and then sometimes you can see the final touches that are needed to make it even better. Looking at your pic again there is also a different direction that you could take it in if you wanted to - the setting and sky blend perfectly and have a certain look about then that is very reminiscent of a painting. It is the thing I like most about your picture. Maybe if you could apply that to her as well then you might lose a bit of definition from her photo, but that wouldn't matter because then the whole image would be in that style and so it would look even better. Just another suggestion anyway
