I have been worry over this. I have a job, but it just isn't enough to pay for college, a house, car, insurance, food, and anything else I need to survive. I don't understand how college students survive. Thankfully my parents have been nice enough to let me live at home, but I'm going to a different college next semester farther from home. I've got to find a second job or else I will have to give up on my dreams.

That's a really troublesome thought. The solution - find motivation in the "I told you so". Motivate, succeed, reach independence from your "parents". It's simple, really. I hope...

I am living in Scotland where I came after leaving my school. I need to repay one year and a half of my studies which I didn't complete. I have a job which I hate and a Iranian boss whom I hate as well. I want to change the job but I am afraid of doing a wrong step and making my situation worse. I miss my parents and my home.
Now, the better part of the story. I got to the University of Edinburgh which is very good one. I really like my civil engineering course which I am about to start in September. I applied for scholarships and I hope to get one of them. Regardless of my debt which I slowly repay I want to visit my sister in Spain to have some holidays as well. I love the city of Edinburgh and the people and try to get as much as I can from what it is offering me. I wish not to worry at all. I try to appreciate what I already have and pray to find and achieve as much as I can or even more in my life.

Well, ANYTHING'S possible. And you know what? Just don't give your parents the opportunity to say "I told you so"!
You'll make it! Whatever your dream is, DON'T GIVE UP ON IT!!!!!

I gave up my life in Florida to come home to "I told you so" parents. DON'T DO IT. You'll find work again. You may have to live in a homeless shelter for a bit (I did). But keep going at it. Don't give it up. Keep fighting for your dream. Don't do what I did and go the safe route. There aren't any safe routes.

This is my biggest fear that I have to face every night before I go to bed.

Things you should of thought of before you posted here:
1. Go to college that guarantees a job
2. Get a great idea and find investors
3. Homeless Shelters

Heya there--It can be scary. As a someone from that area, I know how hard it can be to get a job, too. It's understandable to be okay or even get frustrated, but try to keep some hope there, too. If you're in college, talk with a consular or a career center, check out the local job fairs if you haven't yet. A lot of times on campus there are also programs where you can work somewhere on the campus, too. If you can get to a Florida 211 phone number, maybe give them a call. They deal with everything from anxiety, to loneliness, to attempting to work out your problems with you and get you in contact with some people who might be able to give you a hand.
I seriously, seriously wish you the best out there.

I'm in the same exact position :/ i've been trying (not very hard, but trying) since i was 16 to get a job. I can't find one. the places i've applied to never called me back or said they weren't hiring.
I'm graduating in less than 2 months, IF i finnish my credit recovery classes....and i had plans to get out of my house this summer..move away from my "family" for good. I can't do that anymore.
But you know what? i've found that humans do twice as better when under pressure. It may be more stressful, but it's the stress that motivates us.

This sounds like me in the future. O_o
After I graduate high school, I want to go to college and move to Florida. My dream is to be an artist, any kind.

I can definitely relate . . . I had to drop out of collage . . . and now I'm living with my parents desperately trying to find a job - before I have to start making payments on the loan I took. . . Yeah, this is definitely not very motivational . . . Just keep trying! You will get somewhere, even if it isn't where you dreamed . . . you will get somewhere. . . I sincerely hope you get somewhere really nice, and if you do - Please tell me how you did it!
