Yo kids, here's a bit of a comparison between the great schemes of polynesian demigods. In case you ask, YES, Moana is a damn GOOD movie. YES, the Rock was PERFECT as Maui (who by the way is a caricature of Peter Maivia... neat touch !) and YES my favorite song is "You're Welcome !". And I believe you've put 2 and 2 together, the Disney Maui was a bit more judicious in terms of quest than his Maori counterpart... Lack of powerful goddesses my scrotes ! Knowing how it fucking ENDS for Maui, it was a good decision to minimize the number of people involved ! I see as "wising up" rather than "toning down"...
I've heard about some outrage and yadayada BUT once again, if people fucking BOTHER to research a bit, they'll know that Myths are generally a) sketchy things that, who knows, could have been blurted out on the spot by some junkie b) NOT stuff that you can adapt by being blindly faithful.

Oh by the way, "Gods of egypt" ? Pretty fun. I love me some mythology and that movie, cheesy though it could be in parts, actually NAILED what the Kemet was about in general. Also, Butler as Set ? WIN.
