Why is this guy so hard to adapt to different media? So far we've had a green skinned archeologist, a ghost from ancient times and a drunk actor used by a far lesser villain. I'm not even sure if he was in "Armoured Adventures", I think that might have been Temugen.

Actually the video games nail it. He's spot on in the Marvel Ultimate Alliance Game ! The robe is what he wore in the Byrne/Kaminski runs and his voice ... sounds like a mix between Dr Orpheus and Jafar XD
They just have to go with that ! His origin is very frigging easy to adapt !
About Armored Adventures... the teen Mandarin , Gene Khan, is kind of mix between Temujin and his father. When drawing Mandarin as a kid , I used that as an inspiration...
