He was perfectly healthy and alive and so the scouting legion took him in. They trained him and trained him until he reached the age he is now. On his way, he got many friends and two of which that have a place in his heart. But when he first went out into battle during his first missions, he was attacked by an aberrant titan and his chest get bitten clean off. How he survived? No one knows, all that is known is the scar he bears on his chest for him to remember.
