Do you have any idea why you usually chosse to paint faces? I'm not criticizing, just wondering: why a face? I'm interested because I drew some myself, and never figured what exactly pushed me to choose that particular subject... There must be a reason. Maybe you know?

Thank you. Faces as opposed to what? Scenes or figures in some motion? I think at this point I like doing it firstly because I was never that good at it and second it's a lot of fun

Fun only is a good reason, of course.
What I meant was more about your decision to draw a face instead of anything else (landscape, still life, etc.). I believe there might be a deep psychological motive behind (e.g. what the artists thinks of himself, identification to the face, need to communicate emotions through a facial expression...).
Your faces being monstruous and angry could also translate an anger you keep inside and have to channel through your paintings (at least it works for me)... Anyway, I don't wanna bother you with stuff you don't care about. Let the point be to have fun, no more.
Don't know why you pretend not being good at it, cause honestly, they're all really cool.

Thank you my friend. I understand completely and I guess I just don't look that far into it. When I sit to paint I'm usually excited by the idea. Mood usually doesn't play into it that's why I said for fun. If there is some underlying emotion there I couldn't say....I don't think there is.
As for faces versus other things like landscapes and what not, I've done those and they just don't hold my attention and I wind up not finishing the piece. Don't get me wrong, they are fun as well but in very small doses.
When I say I'm not good it isn't me pretending. I've struggled with a lot of aspects of the face along the way and I feel I have some much more to learn not only there but with painting overall. I do think I've become a better artist over the years but not because I thought so it's because I didn't think so. That has made me push myself and still does. I always want my stuff to be better and when I look at what I've done so far I'm not to happy. It is the learning process for me. I am my own worst critic
I really appreciate that people like what I'm doing and I'm really grateful.

My lord... oil on canvas?? this work I think deserves plenty more credit than it already has! From concept to technique, I think the eeriness of the mood really puts a new use to the humble paint and canvas

Thanks man. It depends on a lot of different things. What I paint on, what colors I use and so on. I finished this a few days ago and it's dry but one I had finished a few months ago is still tacky! Canvas usually dries quicker than masonite. If I use a lot of liquin mixed in my paint it will dry pretty quick too. Black tends to take a while to dry. So, I guess it varies from piece to piece.

Thats REALLY GOOD!!!! I love the detail of the blood, of how it gets darker as it falls from the fingers, makes it look more realistic. Totally creepy!
