I love semi-realism with anime. Its something I focus on myself, when I can or feel like it. Good job with the balancing the eyes with the nose and lips; this aspect is what is really essential to making anime characters look like real people. I need to start drawing them with normal sized eyes, but I end up making them bigger. I also like that you used a minimal color palette, as this also helps carry over the realism. Anime, of course, tends to be bright and bold.
