Sometimes the most beautiful of photographs don't need the most elaborate or unusual settings to have an powerful impact on the viewer. This photo is proof of that in that it consists only of an old staircase and two girls in motion. Yet the combination of the movement of the two girls, the lovely vintage staircase, and (stucco?) wall as the backdrop create a stunning photograph. The subject(s) are not so much girls as they are ethereal, fleeting creatures caught in a ghostly dance. The differences in color (the girl on the right with her red hair and pale dress contrasts with the other girl's blonde hair and dark dress) also contribute to the dynamic power of the photo - which is, when you look at the subjects, well-named. e.deviantart.net/emoticons/s/sā¦ " width="15" height="15" alt="" title=" (Smile)" />
The composition of the elements is also part of the appeal - the line from the top of the staircase directs the eye down to the left border, and then leads neatly to the two girls in mid-air. The ivy creeping over the staircase in the left corner plus the crack in the wall (upper right corner) frame the subjects perfectly, increasing the dynamic power of the photo. The photographer managed to catch the phenomenom that happens when light, color, and motion harmonize perfectly at a certain point in time, a point that can never be duplicated. All the more congratulations to the photographer for this magnificent capture and sharing it with this community.
