I don't understand how you put the white bar behind the doll's (forgotten the technical name, sorry) arm without making it look photoshoppy, it still looks so natural D: Amazing!!

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

DianaGrigore In reply to Mew-Suika [2013-03-13 10:28:46 +0000 UTC]

Well..after working in photoshop for 7-8 years, that was a simple thing to do, comparing other things I do now in photoshop. The arm is masked out from the white line, I didn't do anything else
Thank you so much for the appreciation, I'm glad you liked it!

About the artist's model, have you ever gotten it to sit cross-legged?

The thing is, it's very rough at the joints, and the legs always come back at the initial position

So, you mean your important ones don't get very popular?

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

DianaGrigore In reply to miontre [2013-01-29 02:14:14 +0000 UTC]

Yep
To put it simple: dark, moody, cold, black and white < simple, colorful, really colorful, warm, fuzzy, lovey and so on
That's how it is on dA. On other sites the roles are reversed

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

miontre In reply to DianaGrigore [2013-01-29 05:57:57 +0000 UTC]

Haha that's true! Much more appreciators for the bright/colourful/cute stuff! Personally I like both but I've been trying some less bright colourful happy stuff recently
And I've only used dA

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

DianaGrigore In reply to miontre [2013-02-01 22:07:06 +0000 UTC]

I'm more of a dark/surreal/not cute stuff, but that won't work for me in the future, so for client projects I'm going to try to integrate that darkness into something more pleasing to the eye
I'm considering reopening my account on flickr, there are some nice forums there

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

miontre In reply to DianaGrigore [2013-02-04 02:21:32 +0000 UTC]

I like those things too haha I guess I like everything really, but the cute stuff I like a bit less.
I've never tried flickr, or any sites apart from dA

wickedphoenix93 [2013-01-25 16:10:41 +0000 UTC]

I agree with Spilled-Sunlight's comment about the petals being barely cut off, but otherwise this is amazing! I originally thought you'd set up some kind of bars for the maquette to reach through... wasn't until I clicked on it that I realized it was a 3D effect and it came out very cool!!!

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

DianaGrigore In reply to wickedphoenix93 [2013-01-25 18:05:52 +0000 UTC]

Thank you for the feedback! It's fixed now

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 0

Spilled-Sunlight [2013-01-25 16:04:50 +0000 UTC]

This is really original, love it. The only flaw is that the right side of the flower is cut off, skewing the 3D effect, but everything else is awesome.

DianaGrigore In reply to Spilled-Sunlight [2013-01-25 18:03:46 +0000 UTC]

Thank you! Someone pointed that out earlier, so I fixed it. This is what insomnia does to people. They forget the petals

Amazing shot, but I'm not really surprised by the 3D effect. I've seen this kind of edits on tumblr before. Nice work regardless !
