Description
I have the honour of participate in FairyTale-ArtBook !It's a proyect for raise money for charity where 100 artists have to do an illustration of a popular (or not so popular) fairy tale. In my case, I chose Bluebeard because is one of the stories I can remember of my big (and disappeared) book of tales when I was child.
However, Bluebeard is very grotesque ( if you don't know about the story you can read it here > childhoodreading.com/?p=20 )
I didn't want to draw the corpses of the dead wifes, that's very awful for my taste, so I decided to draw they as ghosts, making possible that they can also participate in the play, showing their feelings and personality.
I like the composition of the final sketch, but I should be careful about how I put the lighting in the scene because by now it's too bored in comparison with the first sketch.
More information about the illustration when I finish it! :D

The story is in my book of Tales by Anderson & Perrault. Also in it is "The Traveling Companion" which may be the basis for the Grateful Dead. Last but not least is "Sleeping Beauty" but I feel the 2nd part was NOT needed.

I can just imagine each of them with their own personalities and gathering to her, maybe even a little song where each of them describes who they were and how they met Bluebeard before getting the axe, telling her that she's inevitably doomed if she stays.

O my word! This is great! THis story gave me nightmares as a child, so seeing something not quite as terrifying is a relief

It's a default brush in Photoshop, I think you can get it in the brush menu, in "Dry Media Brushes"
