I love you, miss you-know-who-you-are~ <33She's always been there for me, she's always helping me with so much, and she's one of the best friends I could ever ask for~ So this is my gift to her! <333
She wanted to be sitting by water with the sun as the past and the moon and clouds as her uncertain future. There's a whole lot more that's symbolic, but I'll leave that as her little secret. C: I totally abused the dodge tool on this piece. D; Especially since I hadn't done much cging in awhile, lulz. But actually, the sparkliness adds to the atmosphere, I think.
Btw, half of this was done in the last couple of months of 2OO8. I did all the detailing yesterday; didn't think I could do so much so quickly. There may be hope for me yet, lulz! 8'D

I like how the warm orange and cool blue colors come together. The way you have the water drop on the right side makes it seem more like ice glaciers (that was my first thought when I saw this picture).
The structure on the bottom left is a little confusing. Is it circular or is it supposed to be a square? If it's a square, then the shadows are definitely throwing it off by pushing it back. I'm assuming it's a square because the the top of the roof isn't circular. The circles at the end of the roof that aren't getting enough light should have a bit more light shining off them. The same can be said about the post (the things holding up the roof, whatever they're called) farthest left. It looks like it's pushed further back into the building because it has little to no light source (it could also be from the leaves covering the bottom portion).

ooh, thanks for the crits! I'll keep those in mind the next time I paint~ I've been needing to work on my lighting for awhile.
It's supposed to be...more than four-sided? O: I dunno, I didn't plan exactly how many sides the pagoda would have, so that's probably half of my problem. xDD
