Description Another illustration from the prolific years. This is a portrait of the main characters in Sergei Prokofiev's Peter and the Wolf.

I've been meaning to add this in my DA gallery for some time now, but had trouble categorizing it --it's as much traditional art as it is digital. Maybe a 50-50 category would solve dilemmas like this?

2000. Ecolines and watercolors. Sheet music added digitally in Photoshop.

Fantastic! I love the texture and the warmth in this piece. The Primary colors and Peter's expression speak volumes about his character. Well done!

This is marvelous. I love the colors, especially the deep green background. How perfect is it that you have the notes line up to make the cat's eyes shine? PERFECT!!! Peter's expression is priceless. Really nice work.

Quite nice... I like it. The soft feel is very warm, which kind of contradicts the cool background.. and the music overlay adds an effective graphic quality to it that absolves the piece from even needing a title. People just know what it is by looking at it.

I'm glad you liked it Daystorm. It was one of the last illustrations I made as a BA student and one of the first images I consiously drew as a children's book illustrator --it also was my 'business card' for many years (if you can tell a 10x15cm card a business card) and can still be found in my portfolio.
