I finally saw that movie, the first anime I've ever watched actually. The godzilla design is cool and all but....damn, what a boring movie. I watched it two days ago and can hardly remember a thing that happened in it.

I doubt it. The first two feel like repeats of each other. By the end of two movies, literally nothing has happened.

Well itβs suppose to be a trilogy, second film did not have Mechagodzilla whom is just a decapitated head, despite Toho advertising him, despite him not being in the movie that much.

This trilogy could have been one movie. They stretched it out into three movies with dull, forgettable characters. They tried to be different, but didn't do anything with it. What? Godzilla's a plant? Thats creative. Are you going to do anything interesting with that? Nope. Of course not. What? Mechagodzilla's a city? Thats creative. Are you going to do anything interesting with that? You guessed it: no, no they wont.

You want to know why they split it up into three films? To keep we the fans occupied until Godzilla King of the Monsters. As Toho sees the the MonsterVerse as opportunity for revenue.
And simply put, Iβm givng the trilogy a chance, but City on the Edge Of Battle is probably the weaker entry in the trilogy, and ask me the Houtua just scream Mothra, although she wasnβt mentioned by name, but an egg was mentioned along with the Houtuaβs DNA similar to an insect, while looking human. And there are prequel novels I suggest looking into.

I think that is silly. If you make a quality movie, the fans are willing to wait for it. I get caring about money, but you should try to make a good product first and foremost. I've actually lost my confidence in Toho's ability to make good movies. For the first time since 1954, America is making better Godzilla kaiju movies than Japan. (such as the Monsterverse movies and the first Pacific Rim.)
I'm giving it a chance. I will watch Planet Eater. I just have doubts.
And yes, I was basically screaming "Mothra" to my tablet over and over while I watched it.

Yeah, at least Ghidorah is given his original origin of a space monster. Probably the first time since the Showa era, or the novelized version of Godzilla vs King Ghidorah if ya count that.

This design is way better than the Godzilla from the Monsterverse. This is why Kong Skull Island is the only kaiju movie I love from Monsterverse. But I can't wait to see Godzilla King of the Monsters soon and the same thing goes with Godzilla Monster Planet.
