Render of the actual Boeing 747 involved as Philippine Airlines Flight 434 after bomb exploded on board as part of a test run of the unsuccessful Bojinka Terrorist Attacks on December 11, 1994. The plane landed safely back on the ground at Minami Daito Island, Okinawa Japan.

There were 273 passengers and 20 crew members on board. Only one died which was 24-year-old Haruki Ikegami after the bomb, made and planted by terrorist Ramzi Yousef under his seat, 26K exploded, killing him instantly. Yousef was arrested on February 7, 1995 while he was planting homemade bombs in children's toys. On 5 September 1996, Yousef and two co-conspirators were convicted for their role in the Bojinka plot and were sentenced to life in prison without parole.

Yousef was also found guilty of masterminding the 1993 attempted World Trade Center bombing and sentenced to 240 years in prison for the bombing. Judge Kevin Duffy recommends that Yousef's entire sentence be served in Solitary Confinement at the ADX Florence SuperMax Prison in Florence, Colorado.
