Apparently there are plans to expand this road to Hudson Bay, as well. I wonder if one day there will be a road to Nunavut on the eastern shores of Hudson Bay, though crossing from Ivujivik to Cape Dorset would certainly be an interesting marvel of engineering, using the islands in between as sort of a hopscotch game. Of course, then, it wouldn't just be the James Bay Road anymore. Hmm...
Southern stretch remains James Bay Road, and goes from Matagami to Radisson, as current.
Middle stretch is Hudson Bay Road, or possibly East Hudson Bay Road, depending on progress on the other side of the bay. The road would go from Radisson to Ivujivik. Connections to the rest of Nunavik may also be possible.
Northern stretch is Baffin Road and/or High Arctic Road. The road would go from Ivujivik, QC to... Arctic Bay, Eureka, or maybe even Alert. Sadly, the North Pole is really just ice. Connections to the west Arctic and Western Hudson Bay Road (if existent) may also be possible. Would definitely link to Iqaluit, though.
Of course, that most likely won't happen in my lifetime... while Eeyou Istchee and Nunavik locales aren't TOO distant, relatively speaking, things get really sparse north of Cape Dorset and Iqaluit (which isn't much worse than the 375km stretch that exists already, east to west locales that far north aren't as far as one might think). And not because of the cold. It already can get well below -50 in the winter on the current James Bay Road, what's -70? (It's actually that the Arctic doesn't warm much in summer)
Oh well, I guess I'm just a dreamer sitting here in Florida with my eyes set on the North. The True North.
