Description
The tree seems to have failed to reach out to god in its lifespan.This was taken today at Altona back beach, in amongst the salt flats.

Brilliant! It reminds me the treeless plain in SouthAus where there was only like one tree for miles and miles, and the sky was filled with rainclouds.

This was shot with a canon eos 10D with a sigma EX 20mm lens. there wasn't much post processing required as the day had incredible lighting

I love the full view of this shot, especially the highest branches, it really did make me think of human hands petrified into wood, reaching out to the sky for help, but instead falling at the hands of nature and perishing, yet still holding an arm out to the sky as if in memory of what could've been...
The softness and the tone really set the moody atmosphere, sad, yet so beautiful

This is an amazing picture for many reasons, but what makes it special in my eyes is that I see a woman pressed against the tree. The tree seems dead and so is the woman. It looks like she has one arm reaching up, holding her up, and her other arm hangs down looking skeletal. She has her head lowered and we donβt' see her face only her dark hair, and her once white dress wraps around her tiny body. To me she represents the spirit of the tree and she makes this picture so expressive. And the best part is that "she" is actually the tree itself. Awesome job.
