Overall

Vision

Originality

Technique

Impact

"Whoa this is completely different from your usual art style!" That's my first impression.

So overall, the lighting play REALLY enchants (nopunintended) the atmosphere.

DEM FRILLS THO: that's some very nice work on that.

Magic Circles are a good plus.

I'm trying to understand what gives this picture a much greater impact to me than "Commissioned: OCs," and I think the answer is it feels so much more alive, and in this case, the thing that seals the deal is the fluttering of the robes and the skirt(?) in the back. It feels and looks like a snapshot of life, unlike the other picture where they seems purposely posed. Even if you take the fluttering away, there feels to be more life in this picture from the hair movement, the focus in the mage's eyes.

But then I'm somewhat concerned about my other critique as to how in the other picture, we had more movement (more speckles and snow and etc), and similar hair movement, yet this one feels more alive to me, and I think the answer to that is the placement of the characters: the fact that they're off-centered gives a little gap in the picture towards the left, but from that gap, the imagination is left to create the rest of the story. In the "Commissioned: OCs" picture, it was completely focused on the two OCs, and that left (for me at least) little for the imagination to explore. But here, the positioning of the mage and archer offcenter and to the viewer's right gives more room to imagine a story and create a personal connection to it.

Overall, well done! I love this one.

The staff is so gorgeous and this mage looks so amazing. Rarely do I like anime but your stuff is so well made. You should do animation!

"C'mon Mage don't be like that." The young girl pleaded as she hurriedly followed a girl in dark robes. Her footsteps echoed throughout the caverns, swallowing the pitter-patter sounds of the falling droplets of water from the countless stalactites hanging from the ceiling. Her long, auburn hair flowed wonderfully with the short, infrequent gusts of wind from the outside. Bow in hand, she was dressed with light-weight armor, specifically made to allow maximum mobility and to prevent hindrance in combat. On the contrary, the other girl was completely enveloped in dark robes. With the exception of her hands and her beautiful, blonde head, her entire physique was hidden inside her black clothing. A staff, a head taller than her, rests on her right hand.

"Hey! Please, I'm sorry!" The girl with the auburn hair apologized as she continued to chase down her companion. Ignoring her, the blonde haired girl continued to warp distances, blinking from one position and appearing a few steps ahead. Her expressionless face hides her emotions, yet a slight tinge of dejection can be seen in her eyes. Knowing that her friend wouldn't stop her movements, the girl with auburn hair increased her pace and ran as fast as she can. She stretched out her right arm, struggling to reach her friend's shoulder before her legs give out. She inched closer and closer and closer. Finally her hand reached its destination and she gave her friend a good grab, halting her of her advances.

"Talk to me, Mage! Yell! Be angry! Just say something!" The girl with auburn hair bawled out as she fell to her knees, her legs finally without strength. She sat on the ground, hands on her face, hiding away the weakness known as tears. The blonde haired girl quickly pulled out a handkerchief inside her pocket and offered it to her friend.

"I'm not mad, Archer..." Mage said as she gave out a pained smile. Archer quickly took the handkerchief and wiped away her tears.

"Re-really?" She asked as she looked up towards her friend offering her a hand. She grabbed it and slowly tried to stand up.

"Really. I'm not mad. But I am disappointed, Archer." Mage took a few steps away from Archer, she stared at the countless stalactites above, wondering how they stay strongly hanging at the top.

"Don't be like that, Mage. It's not like you wouldn't see me anymore." Archer slowly approached Mage with outstretched arms.

"I know. But you're still leaving us." Mage turned around and revealed a crying face. Her tears, flowing down her cheeks, dripped down to her dark robes. Archer remained silent, she couldn't bare to see her usually emotionless friend to be in such a saddened state.

"You know, I've always dreamed that we'll all stay together... that somehow, well stay strong... like these stalactites that desperately cling to the ceiling." Mage said as she approached her friend. Archer quickly closed the gaps between them and gave her friend a warm embrace.

"We can't stay together forever, Mage. Everyone has to leave eventually. Knight already found a Kingdom to devote himself to. Priest is establishing a church. As for me... I want to see more of this world. I want to travel, have more adventures, leave a legacy behind. You understand, don't you?"

"What about me? What should I do?" Mage asked as she looked up to her friend.

"Whatever you want, Mage. You'll find it eventually." Archer gave a bright smile as she lightly touched her friend's reddened nose.

"How do you know?" Mage asked.

"Because I'll be there with you when you find it."

"Huh? You mean you're allowing me to accompany you?"

"Yup! Just the two of us, having a grand adventure. How's that sound?"

"I'd like that." Mage answered and the two slowly separated from each other. As the two reconciled, scuffling noises could be heard from the distance. A horde of goblins approached the two girls and enclosed them. Wooden clubs and rusty swords in hand, they screamed in delight for the prey before them.

"Looks like our adventure would start ahead of schedule. I have on toggle, ready to cast ?

"I can it in two seconds, have on standby on the meantime."

"Roger that!"

Hey there, Arvo here! Sorry about that, sadly you're my first victim today to combat my writer's block. I hope you'll forgive me for imposing my story on your art. It's just so beautifully made, enough to temporarily cure me of my illness. Thanks again. As Tuxedo Mask would say so himself, "My job here is done." (Vanishes in the Darkness) (Poof!)

Glad you think so—but you're supposed to be the victim! You need to say something like "How dare you!" Or something like that. JK. How close was I to your Character's story anyways? Hot? Warm? Cool? Cold? The Iceberg that sunk the Titanic?

I see. This is the second time i mistook a guy character for a girl by doing this routine of mine. I hope you don't mind if i write a few more fan-fictions about your artworks in the comment section. It just makes it easier to write when inspired by great art.

Amazing work as usual!  I do have a question, though: are these two from anything in particular, or are they just the archetypal magical-fantasy-setting ranged characters?

Wow, amazing details! I love the magic glyph circles and the details on their clothing!

The hair and eyes look particularly beautifully done, and I also like the effects of their weapons!

Nice use of shadows and lightning effects too!
