Description It's finally done!

Oh man, seriously, you would not believe how many times I have attempted this piece and failed. I was pretty close to giving up, too.

So yeah, the model you see here has been sitting on my desk, unfinished, for half a year, because I just couldn't make the folds for the hind claws. And it would seem that over that time, it has taken some considerable wear and tear.

Anyhoo, I really don't know what motivated me to finish it now, but here it is. It's still not quite the best, but this is, without a doubt, the most challenging piece of origami I've folded up until now by far.

NOTE: Yes, I know I didn't get a very good shot of it, but it was 1:00 in the morning and I was tired and was too anxious to wait until the next day to get a picture. I'll upload a better version later.

Hum, I wanted to try this one this afternoon, but it seemed pretty difficult... I see it IS ^^
Which size of sheet did you use ? Do you think 15cm is ok or too little ?

15cm is way too small for this one. I attempted to do it many times with 20cm squares and messed up every time because it was still too little.
I don't know the size of the square I used, but if I had to estimate in retrospect, I'd say it was around 60cm, give or take. Truth is, I only found a paper that big because my mom has this HUGE sketchpad, and I asked her for a sheet just so I could finally complete this one. If you're capable of making reeeally small folds, I'd say you'd be able to get away with using a 50cm, at least.
Hope that was helpful

ok, I thought it was too little but not THIS too little ^^
I'll try to find a huge sheet (or several because I think i'll need more than one try to fold it xD)

Thank you very much

Thank you!

I know. It took me a very long time to do.
But I finished it in the end.

This is sooo cool!

would you happen to know where to find the instructions for folding this?

I want to make one for my nerdy sister.

Hehe, Thanks.

I got the instructions out of a book. If you want to look it up, it's called "The New Origami" by Steve and Megumi Biddle.
