Description I rewatched Higurashi recently and I have a new appreciation for these characters I didn't have when I watched it the first time through in middle school.

I think that you have a good concept of color. The lineart is red, which I've heard assists in the blending of colors, but then the colors used are colors that pair well with the lineart color. As someone who has never really been good at color theory, I think that that is very well done. Once critique that I have is that the arms are throwing me off. I can bet that they are either behind her back or cut off because limbs are difficult to draw (trust me I've been there). That doesn't bother me as much as that they're not the same length of her torso. If they're supposed to be bent and behind her back, then this doesn't apply. If not, I feel like that if a drawing is cut off at the torso that everything else should be cut off at the same place. It makes it look neater in my opinion. Other than that, I really like your style and your artistic approach. I think you have a good vision and your anatomy is actually not bad. I would have definitely envied you when I was much younger and didn't know squat about digital art.

the arms were meant to fade off, however in retrospect I probably should've extended them down to where her torso ends lol

I like this one. It really shows off what the character's facial expressions are. Maybe watch the show carefully again to see what the character looks like. The detail in the figure is quite good, showing what it actually looks like. Perhaps, you can draw the rest of the body. I haven't seen the show before, so I can't see how close the drawing is to the actual character. If you keep practicing similar drawings, you'll get better.

The portrait, trough it's simple design, gives a complex and harmonic view. One such example would be the clothing details, which are pretty accurate. Something really impressive at what you created here is the shading. The hair and the bow tie have a perfect lighting as well and really gives the desired detail to it. As for the expression, as I mentioned up, tho it's simple, it expresses a lot and gives a small peak to her persona. Returning to the shading, one more bonus to it is that it's done with the light coming from the front. Many people tend to do it from one direction (I admit I do only that). My point here is that you managed to keep the same perspective with accuracy and it is admirable.
