I'm working on revamping my portfolio and really wanted my first project after Graduation to be something fun. So I've decided to design some couture dresses inspired by the Four Hogwarts Houses with heavy influence used from the House mascots.Gryffindor - [link]

* Note about Ravenclaw: Even though there aren't many comments on this page this issue keeps coming up on the rest of the interwebs. Ravenclaw's mascot is an eagle not a raven and in the books their colors are navy and bronze, in the movie they are navy and silver. My first version used bronze instead of the sliver/grey and I didn't think it meshed as well with the design. So the choice to use the movie interpretation was an aesthetic decision. *

I love the design and even the color scheme, although I wish you had used the book's color description, rather than the movie's.

That was a tough call. I did a book version too with the bronze but I just didn't feel like it worked as well visually, especially as a group. It was much more balanced with the grey. If that makes any sense at all haha

Haha thanks. Yeah super awkward. It's been a while since I read the books and not being a Ravenclaw I guess I just assumed. >.< Now if I could only find a good Eagle to replace it with.

I love it! The dress is great! Um...but, I hate to point this out, Ravenclaw House's mascot is an eagle. Despite the name, the raven is NOT their animal and the house colors are blue and bronze, not blue and silver.

Yes, for some odd reason they changed bronze to silver for the movies.
So, unfortunately, pretty much any Ravenclaw merchandise you want to buy will have the refined colors.
But as far as your art, that doesn't change it's quality at all. I still love it.
