Wow. I can't get over how amazingly accurate your evil queen looks. The months worth of embroidery certainly paid off. I wanted to thank you for posting the bra detailing and collar work since I've been using it as a guide to my own costume. And I was wondering if I might ask you a few questions about some other bits. First off how did you manage to find the fabric? That alone is a feat. I've seen people paint and hand embroider theirs but never anything as crazy accurate as yours. It's like you borrowed the whole dress from the set. And secondly, I was wondering how you did the collar. I've looked everywhere online but haven't been able to find any hints as how to make it. Any help would be extremely appreciated. Thanks for sharing this remarkable piece of work.

Thank yo so much!!!! Finding the fabric was some completely random massive luck. I'd been looking for 6 months for good fabric then I took a trip to New York City. I was getting ready to settle because I was getting close to my deadline but I walked into Mood and it was the first fabric I saw in the metallic brocade section. It was like a gift after spending so much time on the embroidery. But it was the last of the actual screen accurate fabric. I'm assuming that's where the show bought it? I've seen a few more patterns on Regina and Cora that have shown up at Moods so I think the costume department shops there pretty regularly. Unfortunately the fabric is discontinued and I could remember the designer name to tell you but alas I do not. For the collar I have a few in progress shots on my instagram that may help? instagram.com/p/awvDC4LtOW/?ta… But I used the strongest interfacing I could find to back the collar then it's really the leverage of my neck once I'm in the dress that pulls and keeps the collar up. On the hanger it falls flat. But if you go far enough back in my instagram there are some photos of the shapes and how I did the pleats. Hope that helps a least a bit! <3
