It's the same tower from before but from a better angle, at least I think so. ^^ I tried this one on a little bit of a brighter day. Managed to get the shot in sort of a cloud contrast so that it wouldn't reflect off the building too much, since the sun was behind me lol.Behold, one of the few clocks at temples that use arabic numbers instead of Kanji. ^^ Oh you know, 一 二 三 四 五 六 etc, etc. You Bleach lovers know what they are. ^^

It's not so much for speaking the language, but for not understanding the local culture and traditions. The Japanese often take those for granted, thinking everybody in the rest of the world was supposed to know it. That's typical of small island countries.

I lived, studied and worked in Japan for many years and all of my living relatives are Japanese - but there are still things about the culture that sometimes get me by surprise. And because I am half Japanese, people expect me to know everything and use to be unforgiving. In your case they don't expect anything, so it might be much easier for you to deal with it in comparison - especially when you're coming from the US. You can call that a special case. ^^
