The contrast of the black and white and the way that you've utilised the greyscale tones is really something... and the background draws my attention to the middle of the picture in the way that it circles around the face. The use of circles makes me feel like she's being sucked back into a vortex, and as she closes her eyes, she's searching within herself for the sliver of colour of world that she is unable to find in her reality of the moment. Imagination is a powerful thing and I think that is the key to this image.

Or it could just be that mine's over-active and I'm reading into it too much. Overall, a smooth image and it's very impressive. I like it a lot.
