On another really sunny day, Kid and Schala are enjoying the view on Opassa Beach (and waiting for... well I leave that for your imagination for now)
Btw in the background you can see, according to a C.C. map, the Sky Dragon Isle.
I made this digital painting piece way back in 2006. It took me three days to make it and another close to 3 hours to finish it.
Due to my PC crash that happened a few years ago I simply lost it till I stumbled upon it on one of my backup discs so here it is.
[2019 Update] Added a more up to date higher resolution piece for prints. The preview is still small and have a watermark but that isn't the case with the print versions. Also the artwork is signed but it's blended into the artwork so at first glance you wont notice it, when it is hanging on the wall if you don't look for it you wont even see it. If you wish something specific on prints, a different type of print with a more visible signature or a dedicated signing or something related, maybe a product that isn't available on here then send me a message, let me know and I will see what I can do. All in all a real masterpiece.

Yeah true, Square-Enix tends lately (a few years now) to promise and announce titles which are very questionable will they see the light of day. They have tons of projects going on and they seem to buy out lots of companies so there is a possibility after all that we might see old great titles brought back for another episode. Still there are always other aspects that might ruin something, all this looks like a gamble, you can't really accurately predict what will happen... My fav char? hmm... I have more then one

I think it would be great to see CC in new graphics for new platforms.
I like all of characters but my fave are : Kid,Harle,Wazuki,Miguel... I think I like those who have sad story. But funny characters like Starky,Draggy are cool too.
Locations... I looove Gea's Navel (probably for that fantastic music 
Did you noticed that graphics in TerraTower were different and better? (I mean just before the fight witch dragon) It's my fave game moment. Every character looks perfectly!

Yeah maybe just like Legend Of Mana, it had a good remake on PS2, at least I think it was a remake, not sure anymore... Which reminds me I played that long time ago and never beaten the game, might get another copy of it and play it again.
True, actually Starky and Draggy have sad parts in the story too. They are really mixed up (so as Skelly etc).
Gea's Navel is sure an interesting place. What I most like there is how the story says it's untouched by mankind. Thanks to that lots of species survived there while everywhere else were wiped out... I like that music too.
You're right about Terra Tower, I noticed that too. It's much smoother and with more details then anywhere else in the game. Well truth is Terra Tower is one of the important locations, actually most important location in the game, so yeah they did that on purpose, they made it more detailed to leave that exact "wow 
Almost forgot the Chronopolis well the whole Dead Sea Ruins were highly detailed as well. The entrance was squarish but later on the town and the Chronopolis ere much more detailed. Well yeah another main location in the game so there were less conversion on it too.
My favourite locations are the Terra Tower, Dead Sea Ruins, Chronopolis, Gea's Navel, Arni Vilage, Forbidden Island, Hermit's Hideaway, Termina, Viper Manor and the Shadow Forest. Also would add there the Isle Of Damned where the Garai Tomb stands, so that would be it. Also an interesting thing about that location is that it looks similar to the upper locations of the Opassa Beach (mountain) where is the Serge's grave located in Another World.
Another great thing about Chrono Cross is that since it's on PSN lots of people, mostly younger generations who didn't played it started playing it now. I just hope they wont get bored of the graphics in the start... or something like that. It's really a great game that needs lots of attention. (So as every other Square game

Well the truth is I used images from the game as a reference only, this scene from my art doesn't even exists in the game, there is only one of them on the beach, never both of them in the same time... So I used the game pics only for reference but everything is edited, painted like I mentioned in the art's info, true I will need to update it a bit more, soon...
Btw the original art that I started is in 4624x2140 resolution and there is no chance to those characters look so clean with the original 320x240 resolution stretched to that big like they do now, so I had to repaint and edit everything step by step. I made a smaller resized version later to upload it here "as a promo" but the main image is still in the 4624x2140 resolution. The reason for that huge resolution is that I plan to make a poster out of it, well the reason for doing this picture anyway. I plan on doing more Chrono Cross images for the same purpose. I even thought of doing some more variations with this one too. I can't say much about it, it's still just a bunch of ideas it depends what I will chose as a final.
I love that C.C. too, it is my most favorite video game, I still play it from time to time (but in general I don't play video games that much as I use to play before). To me C.C. is more than just a video game, it's the pure definition of art in all the perspectives, mainly the story, characters, music, atmosphere... everything is put together with much love and attention. The game itself is a mix of everything, there is science, fictions, facts, past, present, future... Mainly the game's story gives a great message about us, people who live on this planet, what we do and how we do... I can go for days about it really

Alright, well, I just wanted to double check. It's a magnificent drawing, but I was a little skeptical (you can understand why though xD ), I hadn't seen the resolution before I asked the question. I'm glad to see someone who put so much time into a drawing like this.
I love that game so much, I think I've beaten it a total of 122 times using the quick end, fast forward and full gameplay endings :] It never gets old! ^_^
I hope they update the graphics and resell it or something, new games these days are a tad bit too boring, storywise.

I have a lots of friends who like this game same as me, well some of them less some of them are real fans, they played it too many times as well
You're right, I say the same thing about the new games, they are all focused for the better graphics while the story and other things lack in content. Mostly new games are rushed down due to these stupid dead lines, you need to be super crazy and fast to create a great game nowadays, all in all it's really a shame where gaming industry is going. About the continuing of Chrono series idk what really to tell you, reality is that it wont happen but then again there were some hints lately that there is a possibility for another Chrono episode but it's really slim. Re-making the C.C. is the same thing, all they can do is remake it for some new handheld consoles like they did with the Chrono Trigger but nothing bigger than that. I always wanted to see Chrono Cross on PS2 or PS3 with it's graphic engine powers but the reality doesn't allows such project to come true, all we have to do is believe in miracles, only that will bring back the original creators and revive Chrono series.
