The smoothness of the shading is really well done! It goes over the form of the face and the hands very nicely. The fine lines in the hair are also really nice, it's a great touch.
Something I would tweak though is add a bit of a cast shadow coming from the top eyelids and onto the eyeball. When you look closely there is usually a small, thin cast shadow directly under the eyelid. This will help create a lot of depth with the eyes.
But it is still a great portrait! Good work!

The outcome of the drawing is really beautiful. The expression is so well portrayed here, it's amazing. You've put so much time into it and it really shows. I was happy to be your model. As already said the hands are amazing, you do them so well. I know you said you wanted critique but it's hard to give you any, as I really think you did so great on the drawing - love it!
You do such powerful depth with pencils, it's admirable. I love how the whole image fade into black on every angle, it adds an extra dark/frightening mood to it.
One suggestion - to make a more powerful expression it would have been great with some darker and more visible eyelids. Making them longer and thicker would add to the expression and the fact that the makeup is running. It often makes eyelids clash together and appear thicker. They could be more visible on your drawing, especially on the lower part of the eyes. But again, the drawing is already beautiful in it's sadness. It was great being your model Dave
