This is a pen and ink (rapidograph) drawing that I worked on intermittently for 3 years between 1977-79 (yes, it's old and so am I!)I only found it in storage recently along with some other old work that I've posted the last few days (these pieces are from a period when I was young, intense and obsessive about my work--maybe too much so, whatever....).
Anyway, this was a real piace where me and my teenage friends used to sneak to (it was kind of like an old stone(d) pagoda in north Yonkers, NY and we could hide there for hours on end and be ourselves.
Regardless. I found these pieces because I'm in the painful process of moving, and as a result, my attendance and reponsiveness to you, my dear deviant friends has been very sporadic at best.
Thank you for the favs, comments, support and for bothering to look at my scribblings in the first place.

this is beautiful...i love the detail and texture and painstaking work that makes it so lovely...and, having been intimately acquainted with Rapidographs of that period i can only say congratulations for your patience and perseverence!

An OCD-ers nightmare. Horri-vaccui.
Being thur the 90s i found myself tring to find a hidden picture beyond with blurred eyes. Course i never could see those kinda posters anyhow.
Is there anything hidden? i know how u 70s kids used to listen to records backwards.

Yes, rapidograph is the sketch weapon of choice for the anal retentive!
I'm an auditory dyslexic-I play them backwards but hear them forwards...

Thank you for the compliment! The truth is I worked on it quite sporadically over a period of years (i started it in 1977 when I was laid up with mononucleosis--it must've been fever driven hallucination)

How are you feeling? Did you need surgery for your meniscus? (I've had that surgery on both my knees)--it's really not so bad (for surgery, that is!)
Let me know if you need a big strong caring man to look after you during your recovery (if so, I'll have to go find one!

It's been a long time since we have talked!
My knee is actually doing very well. After the MRI, they had no clue what was wrong with it (they said everything was fine and that I had to wear a brace, which I have been doing anyway for the past 5 years...and all that)
I have managed to work through it all, and it hasn't really been bothering me at all. Once and a while it has, but oh well.

Hello,
Ya, I have always had problems with my knees. (been playin soccer for 12 years now, and then I danced for 7 years) so, they have had their share of use.
After the fall I plan on leaving soccer and going back to some ballet/pointe after that.
It is very good that I dodged the knife, I don't know what I would have done with myself if I had to.

This is absolutely beautiful. i admire all that detail and i don't think it is obsessive at all to create something with so much detail. It seems so peaceful and still. i envy you that opportunity when you were young to go to a place that was safe. i rarely had that opportunity and had very few friends in my life who really knew me or that i trusted enough to be myself around. As i see it, this is a precious piece of your past.
