Description This Stellar's Jay comes to my deck every day knowing I will set out peanuts for him. He then proceeds to pick up as many as 6 peanuts in his beak and throat to carry back to eat at his leisure. He has me very well trained - he sits at my window looking in and I feed him. Bellevue, WA.

Thank you - it is always wonderful to see them on my back deck, and I have about 8 of them that are waiting for me every morning.

I am sure that wherever you are you have some birds that are common in your area that I have never seen here. So it all evens out.

Loved the squirrell and the birds... seems all of them have you well trained!
You're a slave to animals in your yard!

These photos are so enjoyable... and even if I know that you might answer some smart
thing back, I need to say that you are lucky to have so many animals around you... they are sweet and beautiful and a great way to release stress...

Thank you. I dearly love the way my back yard has become an oasis for all birds and animals. I hold as precious the songs and beauty of the different birds and the comic actions of all of them when they are near. And I find an inner peace and calm when I sit on the back deck and watch them. It is a labor of love that has its own reward in that they accept my efforts and offerings. I do consider myself blessed and greatly appreciate your warm and sensitive comment. (serious side to show I DO have one)

Did you WANT the smart-alek remark as well? How's this?
"Poop everywhere! And those damn birds and squirrels are eating my strawberries and knocking over my beer bottles I leave on the deck!"

It is a GREAT relief from stress. Not that I have any, mind you - but if I DID have any, this would relieve it all!

Oh, Steve, I am so happy that I could understand your
environment! When I am at the hut, the visit of birds is so
beautiful! I wish I had a place where more animals could visit
and enjoy, but near the beach that is not possible....

However, animals are so noble and they sense so well who cares
for them... I am happy to know YOU do enjoy those moments!!!

I laughed when I read the second comment

And, if you have no stress... my, are you blessed !!!!!!

Thanks!

I do exactly as the animals tell me. They talk to me in my mind. They say "feed me" and "give me water" and "more of that orange stuff without the seeds, please." Oh wait, no, my daughter says that one to me. Anyway, I get a lot of happiness out of watching them and knowing that they have a safe place with plenty of food to hang out and live at. So it's an oasis for them AND for me! And my guests love it when they come over so it's good for them, too! And as I said, I do love sharing it with others. So I am glad you like it. And I would love to experience the hut you have so well explained. Even without much animals I am sure it has a beauty all its own. Thanks for sharing that!

Your comment enables me to "be" there, you know?
I know the feeling ( about your daugther's words),
and yes, animals DO transmit thoughts (my dog and cat
do that all the time). But being able to share like that
with wild creatures, that has to be a superior joy.

You would love the hut, I know that... and thanks to you,
too, for sharing your feelings!
