Indeed. I used to do that a lot,
and yes I have painted a wall or 20+.
After schooling I paid my dues painting walls all over San Francisco and to make a living. No much more fun to do it on canvas or paper.

true blue as you said
the fun factor remains and is the constant
it's often what is left when all else fails in painting,
even talent
thanks

The story came from a recent email exchange with conman/woman.
I knew there was a poem in that 2 day experience.
it started as a single painting, but soon realized it would work as a diptych.
does have that aerial view feel
appreciate what you said

well I wrote her back with the intention of selling her the painting, in case it was legitimate.
then she finally asked for my banking info/account numbers and then it was pretty clear it a was a scam.
You never give that info out to strangers.
But it was amusing. her tale just got stranger and stranger.
last email i said
send me piks of you at the wedding.
cool you enjoyed

very much appreciated,
thanks
and it is a true story
I had thoughts
10% it was real
but 90% was the scam was on.
I had seen similar come ons with funds available in some country in Africa and all you had to do was give them your banking info and you can partake in a fortune.
Just never saw with someone faking wanting to buy a painting.

More like a serious fraud with the fakery and manipulation of supposedly buying a painting, in the end of all these internet come-ons is the same, the fact they want your banking account numbers and to supposedly wire you money. Then they have you.
I saw through it from the start, of course i hoped it was real, but the gal bullshitted so much, that it was almost amusing to me. Truth is, I fear many artists, ones that may be desperate for a sale, or just believe the nice email they receive and think they are selling a painting to some kind collector will fall for this old con. They tell you a great story, praise you and many will inevitably fall for this scam and get ripped off.
Sadly artist may be the most vulnerable to this scam.
I never heard from her again after I emailed her my normal way of doing business with strangers, I would only ship a painting to her if she sent me a bank certified check for the total amount of the work and shipping expenses. Once funds are for sure clear, meaning check is good, I would ship painting.
I knew that would make her disappear.
Plus the 'she' was most likely a 'he,' and sitting somewhere in Central Africa or Russia.

Been doing this for awhile, so I even take the same care with a legitimate collectors. But this one stunk of a scam from the first. I have sold hundreds of paintings in my life and there was something wrong with her approach.
But of course i wanted it to be real. Thousands of dollars were being discussed. But most are real, but this one was not.
