As I sailed home after a long journey, I came across an island among some storm clouds. This island did not appear on any of the charts I had collected, nor did it appear on my radar. I heard rumors about uncharted islands in the towns I had visited, and that they should be avoided. I steered the ship away from the island and continued on my way. Not long afterward, I began to hear something. It was the sound of a woman singing, but it was unlike anything I had ever heard before. It sounded beautiful and enchanting. The words of the song pierced my mind.

“Come to my island, come to my home,
Your dreams will come true,
Your heart’s greatest desire awaits you here.”

I lost control of myself, and steered my boat to the source of the voice. Try as I might, I could not resist the urge to follow the song. It’s like I was being controlled. The song grew louder as I approached a rocky shore. I weighed anchor and swam to the island when I got close enough. The source of the voice was a beautiful mermaid perched on some bloodstained rocks. She smiled seductively, motioning me to approach. I felt myself being pulled toward her.

“Now that you are here, wayward sailor,
I’ll feast on thy innards, and feast on thy soul.”

The mermaid's eyes began glowing yellow. I heard a deep rumbling sound, and felt the sand beneath my feet shift. At that precise moment, I regained control of my body, and threw sand in her face to blind her. I then returned to my ship and continued sailing home. I was one of the lucky ones to escape the Siren’s Song. If you ever travel the seas and you spot an uncharted island in the midst of a storm, cover your ears and sail away from it. The siren is likely hungry for more wayward sailors. I’ve heard that the flesh of her victims is what makes the sirens more beautiful, but I am in no hurry to prove this. If this is true, I’m guessing Craig’s List is her idea of a menu!

I was inspired to make this lady a mermaid upon seeing the photos of her in her gallery. She is , and is an amazing and beautiful artist. I loved her paintings of mermaids and the other pictures, and I told her I wanted to make her a mermaid. She then told me she loved blue, so I made sure her tail was blue.

Most of the photos of her were a bit on the seductive side, which I wasn’t looking for at first. But then I remembered that sirens were often depicted as mermaids, and were shown to be very beautiful, especially their alluring voices. With that idea in mind, I decided to make her a mermaid just as I planned, with the same sinister qualities of the sirens as well. I also changed her bikini top blue to match her tail better, and added more color to her lips.

Fortunately, she doesn’t have the traits of either of my Deadly Sirens!
