For the past few days, I have been following the news from Afghanistan with horror, pain and anger. Now aggressive religious radicals are seizing power in this country, and what they are doing is no less terrible than the crimes of the Nazis. Their ideology itself is similar to Nazism: it divides people into full-fledged and not full-fledged, those who have human rights and those who do not have them. But not only "strangers" suffer from their actions, but also "their own".

Now a huge number of women and girls, just like me and you, are becoming slaves. They must either fight to protect their freedom, or leave all their dreams, plans and hobbies in the hope that they will be spared. Both are equivalent to death, physical or spiritual.

Any patriarchal religion requires a woman to kill her soul so that a man can save his own. A woman must give up her desires, her freedom, her body. To become a convenient wordless thing, a living corpse. I believe that there is no God, no light, no truth in this. Each such religion is a religion of death and a perverted male ego that is unable to accept the human in someone other than itself. This is something that we, educated and civilized people, are obliged to fight.

It may seem to us that our bright world, full of freedoms and joys, in which science and humanity triumph, is unshakable, but the example of Afghanistan shows that its borders are gradually narrowing.

Let's not let that happen.

Our enemy is not only specific people with weapons in their hands, it is those superstitions, misconceptions and lies that push them to commit crimes. It is not in our power to stop people, but we are able to show all the ugliness, backwardness and baseness of their ideology, to make it shameful and criminal to agree with them, so that any person who believes that a woman does not have the right to leave the house or get an education would immediately be ridiculed and condemned.

Nazism claimed and broke many lives, but it was still defeated. I believe that the same thing awaits the radicals.
