The Myth:
Pygmalion, a fictional character from the Roman poet Ovid, is a sculptor who falls in love with an ivory statue he has created, Galathea (or called Elise by Goethe). Aphrodite eventually brings the statue to life.

Reverse Myth:
In this series, inspired by the myth, Pygmalion, The Dollmaker abducts unsuspecting victims, who he then turns into inanimate dolls and adds them to his debauched collection.
