I'd let them fry due to their recent history of stealing other Pikmin meals. They need to turn themselves down some.

A bit late for me to find your work but well, better late than never.
Chose this one to comment on because, ironically, this is one joke they actually (sorta) did in canon. The games describe the Pikmin as being pretty 'child-like' as a whole and thus, prone to enthusiastic sprees of... less than intelligent actions. And well, the short movies do confirm that though they're actually capable of being quite smart and ressourceful, they tend not to think their plans through (leading to them backfiring in spectacular, often lethal ways).
(the canon variation of the joke is actually even dumber in a way ; a blue Pikmin notice that a bunch of yellow Pikmins are enjoying the electric current from touching a discarded high-voltage battery and are blossoming from it. So he try to join the chain... with predictable results. The yellow Pikmin are so 'stoned' on the electric current, in a certain manner of speaking, that they only notice the blue Pikmin's idiotic (and lethal) move when he collapse, complete with ghost and death wail.)
So yeah. Noticed your comics and finding them funny. Pondering if I should comment on each one or not.
(Hope you'll find my comment interesting, should you read it)

Yup I read the whole thing haha and I actually have't watched any of the videos yet so it's funny that they had the same idea!

That's quite a funny coincidence indeed!
And you definitely should do so ; I found them to be quite worth the price of admission.
(Oh and they do confirm that a certain gameplay quirk of the serie is indeed just a gameplay quirk ; Pikmin don't leave corpses in-game as to not clutter the game world and potentially cause lag. Lore-wise, Pikmin actually do leave corpses behind like every other creature when they die.)

Much like with your 10th comic, this joke wasn't clear to me at all, and I didn't chuckle until I read your description. Β Obviously it's difficult to depict the pikmin in any kind of trance (since they're perfectly designed to fill the role of cheap slave labor), especially the pink fliers and their glassy eyes. Β Stiff, zombie-like limbs,Β might be harder to distinguish, since they're floating on the air. Β But perhaps if the "camera" was pulled farther back, we could get a sense of progress as they move closer towards the light. Β As it stands now, I'm just wondering where all those pink pikmin in the second panel came from.

Hm I didn't really think of that, but it probably would have helped put it together if it had another frame or was zoomed out. Thanks for the feedback.
I was assuming that people would understand that one flew over from the group and then the rest followed

Hmm... It depends on rather or not I have anything against one of them. If it was a sweet little Pikmin,Β I'd break the chain in about two wags of a Gatling Groink's tail. But if ol' PinkyΒ acted likeΒ aΒ son of a Grubdog, then I'd wack her with my glowy stem.

Whats funny is electricity dosent equal auto-death anymore, it works sorta like all the other hazards now: you can save them via whistling. All electricity does is paralyze the Pikmin until you save them (or they die.)Β
π: 0 β©: 2
Dominosaur In reply to Shuckster1 [2013-08-11 22:19:17 +0000 UTC]
Well that's good. I guess with the auto-death thing they were trying to make it more realistic

Shuckster1 In reply to Dominosaur [2013-08-11 22:28:26 +0000 UTC]
By that logic, whistling shouldnt save them at all. So if Nintendo was thinking that, its weird.

Shuckster1 In reply to Ultra-Star [2013-08-11 21:51:40 +0000 UTC]
IKR? I didnt lose a single Pikmin to electricity on my first go in 2. That was an evil move, esp. since all other "elemental" hazards werent auto death. But one things for sure, there is no reason drowning, being set aflame, poisoned, or electrocuted should be stopped by simply whistling.

Ultra-Star In reply to Shuckster1 [2013-08-11 21:55:35 +0000 UTC]
Perhaps it's the love of the Pikmin that allows them to shake off the hazard when the captain calls them. It's wishful thinking.

I say let them fry!!
muahahahahAHHAHAHAHAHAH
I guess it depends on the situation, like if I was fighting the Vehemoth Phosbat, I'd be like, "Screw it! I gotta blast this thing with light!" But if I was just in a harmless dark cave, I'd save the pink pikmin and continue on.
Although usually if one of my Pikmin does something stupid I just let them die haha. I'm evil.

I know. I'm honestly just gatherin' mah spoils of war when I start hearing that "aghablwaghwblawgwablgwa!!" drowning pikmin sound, and somehow a rock pikmin climbed over the ledge BEHIND me (so I didn't throw him there) And now he's stuck drowning behind a rock wall.
...Then again I'm surprised the rock pikmin can swim at all haha
