Description The second part of what I think will be about a twenty part Blue Vixen series.

"The Blue Vixen" is an illustrated novella about the super heroine Blue Vixen. It will be uploaded here as each part is completed.

The Story starts here: Next:

----------------------------------------------

“DeGiese!

My office. Now!”

As she heard her name bellowed into the sea of cubicle work stations Val knew that whatever Matt Ricardo needed her for, it was not good. She quickly put her computer screen on hold and walked to Ricardo’s glass incased office.

Ricardo’s greeting was anything but, “Downtown is not happy.”

Val knew immediately her boss was referring to the undercover assignment she had been offered and turned down that morning. She didn’t bother to take a seat, though she was careful to close the door.

“Fuck them Matt. It’s not my job to make them happy,” Val responded calmly but with obvious distain for the emotional state of the upper echelons of the OCCD.

“That’s very true Val. And you are going to get the chance to explain that to division in person. Ten AM tomorrow morning the deputy chief of division wants to see you in office,” replied Ricardo.

It was obvious that he was moving the issue of her assignment on to her plate. He would prefer not to lose Val to the undercover assignment as it would mean shifting assignments around within his task force to cover for her absence. However, he was also unwilling to fight to keep her out of the assignment because he knew that her duties were basically routine while the mission that the OCCD had for her was important and unique.

“Ah shit Matt. Can’t you just explain to them that I don’t want to do it?” Val tried but failed to keep the annoyance out of her voice.

“No Val. I made my pitch this morning to the operations coordinator at the joint task force. He must have taken to the deputy chief and now he wants to talk to you. Directly.”

“You’ll just have to tell them you don’t want to do it.”

“I know Matt, and I know you are just the messenger at this point.

I’m mostly annoyed at having to go down town and waste my morning with this. We all know its bull. No officer can be ordered to go undercover!”

Ricardo nodded, “Then it should only take you about five seconds to resolve this when you meet with the deputy.”

Val grimaced, “You know he will spend an hour telling my all the reasons why I should do it. I’m afraid that when I tell him no to his face I’ll go on his permanent shit list. Maybe you too. You know how vindictive and petty they can be at OCCD.”

“We’ll survive Val. Just watch your language and don’t hit anyone, especially the chief!”

Val nodded and looked at her watch. “Well, this is a great way to end the day. Thanks Matt.” She added sarcastically, but smiled to take the sting out of the remark. “I’ll be going directly there in the morning and I’ll call you when the meeting is over.”

Ricardo nodded. “Okay. And remember Val, if you change your mind, its okay with me. We can cover for you.”

“That will never happen Matt. See you tomorrow.”

Val left Ricardo’s office and went down stairs into the precinct building basement to the women’s locker room and changed into a lose pair of running shorts and her favorite running shoes. She was an avid runner and worked her runs into her daily routine by turning the trip from work to home into a brisk three and a half mile jog. It was a comfortable run through the old tree lined neighbors of Brooklyn, around the edge of Prospect Park, and to her refurbished two bedroom apartment in the renovated old brownstone walkup on Garfield Place.

The run took her about a half hour and it was a good opportunity to vent the frustration that was building inside her. Having to justify not taking the undercover task from OCCD was not only a pain but would not make any friends for her among the higher ups. Her relationship with the higher authorities of NYPD, such as they were, were not great. Though she tried to keep a low profile, and she had no aspirations for promotion, she had been noticed by the command several times. In her short seven years on the force she had two commendations for valor and had once been recognized by the mayor for her part breaking up a particularly nefarious white slavery ring. Those accomplishments were balanced by two reprimands for excessive force, and at least once case that the DA dropped because of a bad confession. Her record was mixed, which made it a little hard to understand why the OCCD would want her so bad for an undercover job.

By the time she arrived in front of the brick three story building where she rented the upper floor apartment she was enjoying a pleasant endorphin rush from the run. In her mind she had organized the arguments she intended to use with the deputy chief of the division the next morning. She thought there was a reasonable chance she could justify declining the job without getting herself and Ricardo on anyone’s bad side.

Climbing the concrete steps of the building, she removed her keys, stowed in her fanny pack along with her off-duty Taurus PT709 automatic, her wallet, phone, and badge, and opened the down stairs entryway to the old building. Two flights of stairs took her to her front door, where another key opened the door and the deadbolt of her apartment. She smiled as she relocked everything, dropped her fanny pack on the entry table, and flicked the remote control, filling the apartment with bouncing sixties pop music. Val went directly to her spare bedroom which was set up as an office and gym and immediately lay back on her ab machine for fifteen minutes of additional crunches and sit-ups. Finally, her workout over she was done with her duties for the day.

As she finished her workout and was checking her email her phone rang.

“Hi doll, watcha doin??” It was Rich, her boyfriend.

Rich Malley was a detective in the anti-terror division of the NYPD. Which was one reason Val and he were a good match. They could both understand and empathize with the other’s work situation but their professional circles did not intersect so there were no personal conflicts or awkward situations. He was calling from Washington D.C. where he was attending at week-long conference hosted by Homeland Defense.

The phone conversation was pleasant but short. Rich’s deep baratone voice on the phone always gave her an erotic thrill that, if she wasn’t careful, could quickly spin into very naughty visions dancing in her head. But tonight Rich was meeting friends from the conference for drinks and he needed to go. As she hung up the phone Val quickly refocused on the rest of her evening at home which was a routine of catching up on news, cooking her microwave dinner, a shower and enjoying a nice glass of wine.

A few hours later and it was time for sleep. As was her habit, Val settled into her cozy bed wearing a comfortable camisole and with a steamy read in her hand. Fifteen minutes of highly fictional erotic adventure brought a pleasant tingle and a perfect end to Val’s full day. She smiled as she turned off her lights, sufficiently distracted from the mornings meeting to allow her a deep dreamless sleep.

Continuing the build, nicely done. I hate internal politics and it sounds as though she is a bout to get "the big squeeze" from the pompous ones at the top. Maybe she can shoot one of them if they apply too much pressure, well I guess not... Looking forward to the rest of the story!!!!

She is such a firecracker! Political b.s is everywhere you go. Can't wait to find out why they want Val so bad for this assignment! After all it's on a voluntary basis! Still there going after her! Must be a real sleaze of an assignment!  Those bastards!

This OCCD is pretty fucking persistent.
Can't see why they want Val for some undercover work.
The only reason I can see for such insistance is a joint op with the FBI>
BTW, Taurus PT709?
Not bad!
Next to SIGSauer and H&K, those are some good pistols.

I can't wait to see what kind of trouble her bosses get her into in the morning! Would it be to much to expect Mickey to be there for the briefing? I would love to see what that nice little pink cocktail would do to her pretty little brain. I am in the market for a sexy little number like her dressed in a bunny outfit just waiting for me to come home so she could tell me about her amazing day she had. Love the story so far and you have done a masterful job at setting the stage for the next chapter!

Maybe someday Roy... but right now the focus will stay on Val I think the same for the bunny outfit... someday

Just so you know, both the bunny and the hooter outfits were originally intneded for this story but the story line went in a different direction.

See you soon
