Loki and Fenrir. No actual story/context goes along with this; it's just a picture I had in my head for a while.

So. Story time.
I was almost done coloring, and finishing up his hair when my black marker decided to leak over half of his face. My first impulse was to cry or bang my head against the desk, but I opted for Option C, which was major facial reconstructive surgery. Thank you, inventors of gouache and Copic Opaque White. His face is painfully annoyingly off from how it looked before especially his nose the catastrophe because of it, but at least I didn't have to start all the way over again. The End.

Materials: Copic markers, multiliners, and opaque white; gold leaf; liquid gold leaf; isopropyl alcohol; 14x11 Strathmore smooth bristol

Wow! I really like this! I love how you have all of the details in Fenrir! XD And the fur around Loki's shoulders.

Thank you! I love doing fur, but it's always a trial and error kind of thing in making it look decent. c:

*dies* That would certainly be frustrating (I've had to rewrite things that got lost before, so I kind of know the feel in a way), but I must say that the end result is simply glorious, as always. Keep up the stunning work, my dear. It never ceases to amaze me how very talented you are!

Thank you!

I tend to mess up a lot, so I'm used to fixing minor catastrophes with my markers. But this time, it was actually the fault of a new marker being over-full and leaking before I could pull it away. I just miss how his nose looked before. ><;

Ugh, I know the feeling with losing writing! They're very similar feelings, but with botched art, I immediately question how I can go about fixing it. And with lost writing, it's more like, "What I just wrote was gold. What in the world did I say, exactly? I hate everything. I don't want to do this anymore. I'm going to go sit in that corner and cry."

Ooooh I know how you feel. Yes, head-bashing is the highest reaction I have in situations such as this. That and I want to break something reaaally bad. But I think you did a good job in fixing it. But I know what you mean. It doesn't look nearly as good as what you had originally intended. -sigh- That's the love hate relationship with traditional art.

Thanks! I just really didn't want to start all the way over when I was so close to being done. There were definitely a few minutes of, 'Did that seriously just happen?'

That is the wonderful thing about digital art- if you mess up horrendously it's almost always as easy as deleting the layer and trying again. Well, unless it's something crashing without being saved.

I think my new goal in life is to have one marker drawing that doesn't end in tragedy before I finish it.

No problem! :3 And Ohhhh yes..heh I really hate when I finish a picture and then I look back at it an realize I made an error I the anatomy or some detail in the clothing, etc. I want to kick myself so hard. >.<'

And yes, that's why I have a bit more respect for traditional artist. I still respect digital, since I know it's not as easy as it looks and it does take quite a bit of skill, but as you said, if you make a mistake, you can't just hit undo or something. You have to try and work around it to fix it or just start all over. >.>'

Hahahah I can agree. I've had a few paint pens explode over my pictures before or just mess up the coloring in general. And I couldn't save it. *cries*
