It's just that I have a story about a disease that turns things into synthetic copies of themselves and it might be an invasion or a science experiment that broke out of the lab to contaminate the world. People affected by this and turned into metal and plastic people are called Mechanesians and they're not received well by humans
Gynoids as I understand it are sort of like The Borg. If they wish to propagate I'd think that they would attempt to be a little more cautious with exposing their mechanical nature unless there is a sort of X-Men racial prejudice thing going on and they walk around like that as some sort of statement.
