It's been ages since I submitted anything I know. I've been working on this for a couple of weeks. It started out as a random attempt to get over art block and grew from there.I'm fairly happy with this one, I could have done more detail on the rocks or something but hey...they're only rocks.
I used a couple of different photos of lakesides for references. The pattern on the dragon is based on the markings my pet snake 'Kaos' has. So many layers.....
Any constructive criticism would be appreciated.
Oh yes....I have my own computer now!

I love how the the water gradually become lighter as it gets nearer the dragon. It looks so natural. The transparency of the wing and the shading of both of them looks lovely. 
Drawing those scales must have been a bit tedious after a while..

*grins* It almost looks like one of the soft bodied, non-draconic dragons at first glance, the kind i don't particularly like, tbut then i notice the details of it's gaze and the shape of it's wings, as well as it's scaling, I know that#s a real dragon.. Excellent work =]
Congratulations on getting your own computer... I'm trying to do the same thing, along with redecorating my room. Should allow me some peace and tranquility in which to practise my artwork and writing.

And the 'non-draconic' kind i speak of are the big curvy fat looking ones with the doe-eyes... To me a dragon is nobility, intelligence, manipulation, wiseness, and sheer angular beauty... But above all, a cruel kind of wariness in the reptilian eyes.
