I survived band camp '08.

Yep.

So, I think it's some sort of majorly illegal to write on a dollar. Don't tell the feds please!

But anyhow.

There's a story behind this. I've always hung out in the band room. I'm a band geek by association. But I've only ever been in the classes, never the extra curriculars. I'd considered marching band, but never signed up.

I was helping carry stuff around for something last year, and mentioned in passing that I was considering joining. The director was walking by and said: "I bet 20 bucks you won't."

I hesitated, because, hey, $20? And I was already pretty sure I'd sign up.

The director noticed my hesitation and said "Well, a dollar."

So when I put my name on the list, I asked when I would get my dollar.

He said; "If you survive band camp, then you're definitely going to stay, so I'll give it to you then."

Well.
I survived.
I enjoyed it.
It's crazy, but I did.
I sorta wish I'd joined sooner, since it's my last year of high school, and I won't get the chance to be in it again.
