Sketch for our calendar of dragons 2010 - spring. Picture purposely has very similar composition to my Joy of autumn picture [link] . That´s because I plan making my own season series. Will be coloured with acrylics and prismacolor pencils - 27x31,5 cm pencil on bristolCrits welcome, this was a pain and I am sure there are many mistakes.

Well, it's a good idea, connecting dragons with seasons. ^^ Nice theme. Who is the calendar going to be available for? Is it only a gift for your family, or are you going to sell it on a website?

Calendar will be available for Czechs only, because the shipping costs would be really high and also this calendar is mainly for members of our website [link] . There will be 13 pictures by 13 different artists

That looks like a really good site! Very informative on the subject of dragons... although it's a disappointment that only the homepage of draci.info is offered in english.

Hm... would it be possible for me to donate money towards paying a translation company to translate the site into an english version? I would contact the site owner and ask him or her myself, but it's difficult for me to find contact details in the Czech language, and I don't know if the site owner speaks english. XD

First off, I must say this is lovely, and I have a feeling it's going to look even more beautiful once it's finished.
One small thing I thought looked a little strange is the dragon's thumb on the left hand - it's like it needs to be positioned differently? I don't know how to explain properly...
But really, this is so well done. I love the overall design/concept.

Thx for the comment! Those hands were the most difficult part XD I didn´t find the right reference photo for this pose:/ I will search again, I dunno how to draw it properly as well XD

Hmm...maybe you could find someone to make the pose for you with their hands, if you can't find a ref photo anywhere else.

kazdopadne mozna ti trochu zkritizuju to drakovo "zvraceni"... mozna by ty letajici lupeny vypadaly lip, kdyby nemirily primo z tlamy... ikdyz na druhou stranu hotove muze vypadat uplne jinak

I've been looking at this for a few minutes in the hopes of finding something to critique, but I really haven't seen anything yet. One thing that has caught my eye is the (dragon's) right wing; it seems angled just a bit strangely. It really isn't any kind of problem, though, since you probably weren't trying to make the wings symmetrical. *grins* Other than that, I think this is a fantastic-looking sketch@

That angle was drawed in a purpose. It´s because of a composition, I didn´t want to cover most of a background with wing, there´ll be a forest

Ah, okay, that makes sense. Hee, I don't think that way yet... For me, the background is too separate from the figure I'm drawing. I never would have considered that the wing would be blocking things...
