Ten years ago on December 28th, 2009, Jimmy "The Rev" Sullivan had passed away. He was one of the founding members of Avenged Sevenfold and one of the most talented drummers the world has ever seen.

Eight years ago, I promised myself that I would draw a tribute piece for The Rev on the tenth anniversary of his passing. Here we are eight years later with me fulfilling my promise to myself. While I am no longer the same 14 year old who obsessed over Avenged Sevenfold with every fiber of her being, I am an adult who has considerably mellowed out and is thankful for Avenged Sevenfold having a significant part in my early teenage years. I had an extremely tough life between all of Middle School and beginning of High School and Avenged Sevenfold provided a creative outlet for me. I was introduced to so many fans from across the world and I felt like I had a place where I belonged. Granted, I was 14 and I did some rather cringeworthy things back in the day, but I wouldn't be where I am today without it.

Thank you Avenged Sevenfold for being there for me throughout those years.
Thank you Jimmy for all of your amazing work throughout the years. God I can't believe it's been ten years since you've passed. While I've been a fan of A7X since summer of 2010, it feels like just yesterday I heard Nightmare for the first time.
