Finally finished this WIP that’s been sitting on my iPad forever. I mainly just wanted to draw link with a slightly sad and forlorn expression. I like that the art book talks about how Link’s memory loss and awakening 100 years after the Calamity essentially freed him from the expectations and pressures of his old life, resulting in him being a more “expressive and lighthearted” person than he was before. But at the same time, little dude’s got quite a heavy burden he’s carrying (what with the mission thrust upon him to save the world) and is haunted by a life from which he can only recall spotty memories. I think an occasional sorrowful moment is to be expected.
