Though fairly benign, shippers outside of PWP usually fear crack shippers, because in the world of fandom it's widely believed that depending on less canon to ship corrupts the shipper's sanity. But since they tend to stay in shadow, (and because OTP has plenty of in-fights), the two groups rarely come into conflict.

Mary herself is content to avoid flame wars while she delivers her fanart and fanfiction of numerous pairings. She used to be like that but now she's in shipping just for the fun and the smut. Sometimes she'll lurk at the forums on the chance something might suit her fancy, but otherwise she meets with her close friends to crack ship.
