On the first sight, the iris seemed to be confused to bloom in wintertime. But on the second glance, nowadays it seems not to be displaced, considering the change of climate. It is already some time since we had real snow in winter in our country. Through global warming and no real cold in winter, iris love to bloom: Understandable.

But of course, it still looks irregular when thinking back to other years.

Now something concerning the shot: You have done a great job not centering the big bloom in the middle but capture it a little sidewards. It makes a better effect and all the buds are on the right. Well done! Interesting is also that you have captured the plant from above. There is a little spring effect in the photo by displaying the dead foliage and in the midth the plant. That is typical spring like

I understand that it is difficult to avoid the house wall completely, but perhaps you can remove or photoshop the metal thingy whatever it is. It is a bit distracting and looks lost in the photo, belonging to nowhere. There is just this little corner/tip that I mean on the left hand side of the photo at the margin in the middle.

Overall, it is a gorgeous colourful photography for winter. Keep up that great work!

Thanks! I think what you're seeing is the foundation and the little cement water catcher under the gutter Good point, I'll keep that in mind the next time I take a picture.

Seems I have the opposite effects over in Vermontβ€”it would be indistinguishable from January in appearance with the exception that many trees still have autumn leaves, with the ground fully covered in several inches of snow and the daily highs below freezing.

I would really like winter to show up here, despite the nice weather.
