EDIT(09/22/15): Added BST provided by  !
EDIT(06/06/13): New display template!
Fossil Pokemon run in fear, for their time has come at the end of an era. Here's Turmoid's evolution, and one of my first Fakemon ever designed, Destryudas! It was formerly known as Doryutas, but I felt a name change was in order to make it sound less odd (Kinda sounded like Doritos before lol). Destryudas has that extra kick to it that Doryutas didn't have. Plus, it emphasizes its status as the "Destroyer of Prehistoric Pokemon".

Most of the changes brought to Destryudas were intended to make it more draconic in appearance. Inspirations came from the various dragons in Skyrim. Notably, its head extensions changed to spike protrusions seen in some depictions of dragons. Destryudas gains a more lengthy wingspan, which can still ignite on fire. I also added a tail of fire, which I forgot to add to the last design of Destryudas. Also, the black tinted body segments are colored in correlation to obsidian.

Destryudas is a formidable opponent in battle. All prehistoric Pokemon fear it, thanks to its ability Fossilize. Otherwise, its also handy with its Dream World ability Levitate, a way to dodge lethal Ground-type moves such as Earthquake. Flare Blitz, Meteor Mash, Heat Wave, and Draco Meteor are staple attacking moves within its arsenal, along with others.

I'm impressed, this is probably the first fossil Pokemon to have a three stage evolution.

Are you blind? It still has 2 stages like every other Fossil that is not Aerodactyl.

Too bad it is prey to rayquaza, since its diet consists of meteors coming to earth

If we consider the shiny, I would actually have it as a steel type.

Because it looks like Bronze/Copper and Silver/Iron

MasterofMuffin [2016-11-12 19:36:43 +0000 UTC]

Why not Dragon-Rock type? You'd still get to use Draco Meteor, and actually be a meteor! Though, technically, most meteors are actually pure Iron, making Dragon-Steel a possibility?

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

Dragonith In reply to MasterofMuffin [2016-11-12 19:42:21 +0000 UTC]

Part of the problem is the fire is overly prevalent in the design for this, so it'd be a little odd to cast it aside upon evolving.

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

MasterofMuffin In reply to Dragonith [2016-11-12 19:54:35 +0000 UTC]

You could make the fire a different color, like blue or white, making it more ethereal-looking, and thus fitting with the dragon typing. After all, plenty of dragon moves, such as dragon rage and dragon breath, appear as fire, but are used by non-fire type dragons. These dragons also learn a lot of actual fire moves.
I'd keep in mind that the weather trio of RSE all have fire, ice, and lightning themes, though none of them have any of those types until Groudon gets fire in gen 6.
My main problem with rock/fire is it's generally used by volcanic pokemon. Maybe fire/steel would be a better typing for a meteor pokemon?

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

Dragonith In reply to MasterofMuffin [2016-11-12 20:39:35 +0000 UTC]

That is also true, though I'm quite fond of its current color palette.

While the Weather Trio supposedly had those themes, only Groudon really had that feature shown more prominently in its Primal form.

Regardless, I'll keep this in mind.~

Professor Tipsy speaking! You know, I had actually been looking to book a flight to Excelo to learn more about the mysteries surrounding it's great variety of Pokemon. Possibly dig up a few Fossils.

But if there's one Fossil I will NEVER revive...it's this one.

This Pokemon had caused the horrible deaths of two of my Fossil Friends eons ago. A Cranidos and Shieldon who had both burned to death when these things caused the K-T Extinction. They both died before they got to evolve, up until I revived them from their Fossils, and evolved under my care. That knowledge alone is enough for me to KNOW, this thing's dangerous.

This Fossil Pokemon is interesting, scientifically. But I want NOTHING to do with it! Unless I get a clear sign they won't murder my Fossil Pokemon friends, we're staying clear away from it.

HoshinoTama777 In reply to TipsyRa1d3n [2016-05-17 07:20:36 +0000 UTC]

I think it goes without saying that you should be able to train it so that it doesn't cause any harm to your fossil friends. Kinda like training cats and dogs not to fight when you own both in one household.

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

TipsyRa1d3n In reply to HoshinoTama777 [2016-05-17 07:41:59 +0000 UTC]

I guess if you put it like that, I might give this Fossil a chance. Although you know...I can't help but worry.

My Rampardos, Emela, has a debilitating phobia towards fire. And that's because she remembers having died in the fire all those years ago.

If I can train it to not see my Fossil Pokemon as enemies or as things it has power over, I'll consider it! Although for all they've been through, I just don't want my best friends to die a second time...not from me making the mistake of reviving the wrong Fossil.*

HoshinoTama777 In reply to TipsyRa1d3n [2016-05-17 07:45:19 +0000 UTC]

Again, just don't worry about it and do it. Try not to keep near any kind of gasses though, it'll light them up in a giant fireball in seconds.

TipsyRa1d3n In reply to HoshinoTama777 [2016-05-17 18:29:29 +0000 UTC]

Professor Tipsy back again. And...I've revived the Meteor Fragment.

I have no idea how I could have ever come up with the notion that they were just mindless dinosaur killers. Because, having studied its behavior, seen the fear in its eye, heard the story of its gruesome death all those millions of years ago, I had realized...it's no different than the rest of my Fossil Friends. It's just like all the others.

TipsyRa1d3n In reply to HoshinoTama777 [2016-05-17 07:54:36 +0000 UTC]

Well that's granted, I usually don't keep such things to begin with.

Still I...I think I might do it. I'll let my Fossil Friends know, and come up with several Backup Plans in case something goes wrong. I'll try it our and report to you shortly how it goes, and of the resulting Pokemon's demeanor!

I really love the idea of this Pokemon, though lets say it uses Flare Blitz against a Genesect will it do x4 or x8 damage (Genesect is prehistoric so i'd like it if you counted it as one)
Thanks

Dragonith In reply to Victorysmaster [2015-08-16 06:12:18 +0000 UTC]

Eh, Genesect's a bit of a special case. It was originally a prehistoric Pokemon, but it got modified heavily by Team Plasma. Not like it matters too much though, since that x4 weakness is a guaranteed kill anyways.

here is a cool move set for it.
Meteor Mash
Giga Impact (get it)
Flare Blitz
Draco Meteor

plus a new move called:
Meteor Impact:
Type: Dragon
Power: 140
PP:5
(basically like Boomburst but physical not special)

HoshinoTama777 In reply to Dragonith [2016-05-17 07:22:41 +0000 UTC]

After seeing the BST added by the brilliant Dr Goom, I'd be inclined to agree. Dragon Dance would definitely be a nice move to have in its arsenal, just to beef up that rather lousy speed stat enough to make it threatening, then give it Dragon Claw/Outrage, Flare Blitz, and any combination of Stone Edge, Rock Slide, or even Earthquake if it was necessary. That's just a rough idea though, seeing as how there's a lot to work with here.

Hexidextrous [2014-12-15 22:26:02 +0000 UTC]

Hands down, this has to be the most badass Dragon Pokemon I've ever seen! I love it!

Makes me wonder why there was never an official Dragon/Fire type, especially since Dragons typically breathe fire, you'd expect that to be an ideal and perfect combination.
