Description By 1917 the once village, now town of Crovan's Gate has grown to be quite the hotspot for rail travel on the Island Of Sodor, even during wartimes. The Skarloey Railway meets with the newly formed North Western Railway here and a light railway using North Western metals.

In this shot we happen to see both SKR Nos. 1 & 2, "Skarloey" and "Rheneas" respectively operating through the station, a rare sight to be sure. No. 1 is simmering at the platform with a passenger train bound north. No.2 is seen paralleling Crovan's Gate Mining Company No. 27 down to the Transfer Yards, while carrying a mixed goods train.

Crovan's Gate Mining Company No. 27, nicknamed "Harvey" is pulling a nearly unique concept, of hosting narrow gauge slate cars on standard gauge cars. It was inspired by the Padarn Railway's own usage of it at 4ft.

Furness Railway No. 35, Known locally as "Edward" is seen pulling a ballast train from Barrow-In-Furness to towards Cronk, where the line needs it. No. 35 is being loaned to the North Western.

FR No. 35 would be sold to the NWR by the end of the war.
