I pick up my pen and rest the tip on the pageA blank slate stares back at me
So empty, yet so full of potential
One sheet contains countless words
More phrases and ideas than I could write in a lifetime
My pen slides easily along the page
A gentle caress that sends shivers through my hand
My nervous thoughts whirl into action
The words begin flowing from my mind
Or perhaps my soul, Iām not sure which
And straight to my hand, twitching in anticipation
Where it springs to life, with a will of its own
One mark on the page begins the process
Word after word appears out of the pen
Not just words, my words
These words are me settling down on the page
They become who I was, if only for a moment in time
