This image actually came up from a conversation between me and *ShadoWolfozo about the finale of S3. So I turned around and agreed to draw Rainbow teaching Princess Twilight how to fly. And, as an added bonus, I made a little story to go with it.Rainbow Dash hadn't expected to see Twilight so soon after she was first announced as a princess. She had assumed that the new princess would have other duties to attend to. So she was surprised to say the least when she was awoken out of her afternoon nap by her.
"Twilight. What's wrong?" She asked, her thoughts going straight to some sort of danger.
"Nothing's wrong Rainbow. I uhh...I want to ask a favor." Twilight replied, not really looking up at her friend.
Spreading her wings, Rainbow lifted herself off her cloud and landed in front of her friend, her wings folding to her sides.
"Anything for a friend Twi. What can I do for you?"
"I was wondering if....maybe....you could teach me how to fly?"
Rainbow Dash couldn't help but let out a small laugh. Despite her friend's embarrassment, she had to tease her a little.
"What's wrong Twilight? Couldn't work it out through reading one of your books?" She giggled.
Twilight let out an audible sigh before looking up at Rainbow. Her muzzle was tainted a faint pinky purple that showed the alicorn's distress.
"Please Dash? I wouldn't have come if I didn't think you could help me." She begged slightly.
She turned slightly away with a small shrug, tempted to go back to her cloud.
"Why'd you come to me anyway? Couldn't Celestia or Luna teach you how to fly?"
"Yeah.....but I figured, who better to learn from than the best flier in Equestia?"
That got Rainbow to pause and glance back at Twilight.
"Best flier? Hmm...I suppose I could spare some time to show you the basics."
"Thank you Dash! You really are a good friend!"

Aww this is gorgeous! I could very well see it happening. Actually, a LOT of people wanted a 'Rainbow teaching Twilight to fly' scenario, and were disappointed that she could fly by the end of the finale.

I don't think she ever could. Sure, she can break the fourth wall and knows about stuff the others don't.....but she's still only an earth pony. One that wouldn't be so strong as to be able to fly as soon as she felt like it. She's still limited to what she can do. And even if she COULD have the power to do that, I think it'd take her ages to actually work out that she had it, plus longer for her to be able to control it.

If you think that's serious......then you are sincerely mistaken. That, my lovely girl, is known as a headcannon. There for, I believe you have not "got me" just yet.
