Result: 20th place
_______________________________They came straight from a seemingly never-ending winter to a sunny beach on the other side of the world. The pale legs of Célestine and the fuzzy coat of Wuriupranili gave away that they were not from here. Célestine had to use a clipper to remove Panini's winter coat when they arrived, as the mercure had gone up quite drastically. She also tried to tan a bit before the day of the competition, but to no avail. She had to be cursed, she thought. Nonetheless, she rocked the shorts she had brought with her for the event, flashing her white chicken thighs to everyone.
It was a lot of first times for Panini in a few days. The filly, although trained at home in the hopes that she would react well to the Cabarita environnement, could not have been warn that the water would move in such a way. It seemed to be licking the sand under itself and producing foam that glistened in the rising sun. It was quite impressive to Panini, who was frankly not too sure at first about putting her little hooves in there. Thankfully, the event allowed participants to practice a bit before their turn, which was really needed in their case.
Lunging her in small circles, as much as the lead rope would allow her, Célestine gradually pushed Panini towards the sea. After a few circles, Panini had relaxed to the idea of this weird body of water doing it's thing next to her. She did not agree to walking through it, though, and dodged the remaining waves that were reaching her in a little springy jump. Célestine thought to herself that if she wanted to teach her a capriole, she would know she was physically capable of executing it. It took a few more dodges, each less and less expressive, until the little filly finally, and awkwardly, decided to go in the water. Stumbling in a state of indecision, somehow thinking that maybe sticking her tongue out would do something, she stopped as much as she kept going foward, result in her jumping feet first in the water.
A couple of tries more, and she was fine with it, dare I say she seemed to almost enjoy it. Célestine was really proud of her filly, so brave in the face of so many new things. Panini would try her best as long as she believed her handler only had her best interest at heart. word: 400_______________________________Omg guys. This background. It..... it did something to me.......... I'm gonna...... go rest for a few years LOL
Joking aside, I'm pretty happy with the outcome :3 I'm not going to point out all the mistakes and details that irk me because i'm gonna write a thousand words on that fndsjfkds Instead I'll practice what one would call ehhh self appreciation )) So here goes! The part that I am the most happy with is actually Célestine! I'm really proud of myself for drawing her without any refs and I really like the look of her drawing. I will try and recreat this style more, bc i find it satisfying to look at and like... that's the kind of things that i like yeah ahah anywaysss
I'm also really happy with Panini herself because, even if i used a ref, I tried to not use it too much. And i mean i couldnt really have if I wanted to shade her, since the video I took my ref from is super blurry lol very good ref hunting if you ask me Instead i studied many other refs of horses in this angle and a smiliar pose and I ended up doing something that I think works
I'm also pretty happy with the sand and uhhh this anime water eheh
