A bug / psychic is an awesome niche that should be filled (as bugs are not normally thought of as smart).
HAHA a brain cocoon is hilariously genius. I actually thing the name for it should be "Comacoon" (Comatose-Cocoon). As in the brain / bug is unconscious undergoing a meta metamorphosis while the unconscious part of the brain protects the cocoon body with psychic powers.
I like the brain style markings but think it is lacking some real concept depth. Like how it functions with those powers? How do they work from the bug? How does the bug have these powers? Why does it need mental strength? So far it is hollow as a concept but has potential to be really awesome.

And I don't know why, but I think it's kinda cute. xD
