Edit: So I've been experimenting some more with Reckless Abandon Watercolors Style™, but all the drawings I had done with that had been very airy and carefree. I wondered if I could color a "heavier" picture with the same approach. So I dug up this sketch from last week that I had been too annoyed and frustrated with to color (I had tried, but ended up with a mess), and BAM.I can't stop laughing, see, Danny, this is why everyone thinks you go around killing people.
I LOOOOVEE IT! I'M NEVER COLORING INSIDE THE LINES EVER AGAIN, HAHAHAHA

You know, I really don't have a lot of Danny and Vlad drawings in my gallery... which is kinda interesting, as they're the main characters. Heh. So here's another to add onto the pile!
*looks at drawing* ... what is WRONG with you two?! GAH! What kind of faces are those?!
Heh, whatever. This was fun. Vlad, as always, is an absolute pain to draw. His face is long,and his nose is long, but it's also pointy... and he has those funny sharp brows and fangs and weird goatee... and then there's that hair... which I avoid drawings most of the time. And the oversized dracula collar... Ugh
And then there's Danny with his dumb determined baby face and hair all over the place, and his pretty death flower staff
what losers.
i love them.
oh, and I redesigned the crown! They originally didn't have them, but I wanted to make them look more commanding and dangerous, so I gave them a variation. I like it, but I'll probably edit it again.
No color because I'm lazy and I want to focus on ~drawing~ <3

Beautiful, absolutely beautiful. So much detail, I really love the poses, and their expressions...I think I stared for minutes at this beautiful drawing. I love their expressions, so vivid, so alive, so full of energy and determination. I love Danny's pose and how he seems to be looking quite through you. I really wouldn't want him as an opponent. But at the same time he still has that "spark" in his eyes that let's you know he's still Danny, no matter canon or AU, and it adds so much to the overall picture. Vlad's pose is awesome, I really get the vibe of "I'm so proud of you, my son."
The coloring is among the best I've seen in a long time. Beautiful contrast and depth, it really brings everything to life. It gives a contrast between Danny and Vlad, yet at the same time really blends them together.
I'm not active on DA anymore but after reading Pearl's latest chapter yesterday I came across this picture and I just knew I had to comment of it. Also, I just have to add how much I adore those crowns. They look perfect and blend in so well. It's subtle yet it adds so much to the overall picture.

You are so sweet! Thank you for the long comment, it means a lot to me. I'm not very active in dA either, but I am on tumblr. I recently made a side art blog where I plan to put a lot of my new drawings (dreamasdoodles.tumblr.com). It's a work in progress.
The new update was amazing! It's gotta be one of my favorite chapters. I absolutely loved seeing Gregor hurt as he was, haha. I'm very excited about where the story might be heading. As for this drawing, it was a lot of fun. I really enjoy dramatic scenes like this one. I love illustrating for Doas because it covers so many genres I can match just about any mood I want to play with to a scene in it

Yeah, I loved the new update as well. Definitely one of my favorite chapters if not my most favorite right now. Beautifully written and a rollercoaster of action, emotions and interactions. What Tom did to Gregor, Tom setting up his trap with help of Sam, and then the ending... Danny attacking Sam and then getting captured by the Fentons. The prince showed no mercy and now it's likely he won't be shown any mercy from the humans either. I'm very excited about where the story might be heading as well. You can really feel we're diving into the core of the story. It may sound weird but I could feel it in Pearl's writingstyle. It's as if I could feel the writer's excitement as well to move toward these new developments.
I have truly no idea what will happen next. And I love that.

Oh no! What is this? LOL! It’s Danny and Vlad!
Oh but I like this drawing so much. I love seeing these two together. And this is such a different light for them, especially Danny. You don’t see Danny fighting like this alongside Vlad often. I have to keep reminding myself this is AU Danny.
Vlad looks super scary here, but that is definitely his warrior face. The scarier he looks to the enemy the better. So, I love how you brought so much attention to his darker features like his fangs and the evil expression in his eyes. I know you say that Vlad’s hard to draw but you do so well on him. I love how you manage to make his weird hair on the show look realistic in your drawings, like it is really possible for someone to style their hair this way. It’s pretty cool.
Danny…. Sweet innocent little prince. Maybe not so sweet or innocent right here. Lol. But he is doing what he thinks is right. The Ghost World is his home, and his main concepts of humans come from his episode with Tom. Can’t blame him, huh? Let’s hope Sam and Tucker can show him a bit more of the good side of humanity… eventually *glances at half-written Doas chapter* Ugh.
But I do love that determination in his eyes. His looks is much more intense than what cannon Danny would be, but it fits him perfectly because he is very different than cannon Danny. But I also like seeing that spark in his eyes that IS Danny no matter whether he is cannon or AU. So, amazing job with him. I also like his outfit. I imagine it’s what he looks like when he’s out in the human world.
Ok…. Gotta comment on the crowns…. I LOVE them! I mean, I really do! Lol! I like how they are on their heads, but what I love more is that you didn’t lose that ‘floating’ effect of the flame. It’s still there! You manage to incorporate that floating flame but still make it look more like a real crown. I just love it. And look at that? You still got it to work with their hair. It’s not obstructing or making their hair awkward! Seriously, you just came up with the perfect crown! Such a brilliant artist you are!
Lastly, I love the subtle shading. The red tint on Vlad and greenish-blue on Danny just brings a nice level of contrast between these two but also blends them so well.
This one is definitely one of my favorites! Thank you!
