This is Karamaria's Mother, and her backstory doesn't have a fairy-tale ending

This is Farashuu Fila, she is 32 years old and is the Daughter of King Jelani and Queen Kichaka. In the Mozambique Strait, both mermaids and mermen live in the kingdom of Maroon Palace.

16 years ago, dark energy threatened a local Masai Tribe near the coast of Tanzania. Farashuu was able to stop the darkness with her pearl, however the darkness was able to fight back. Luckily, the Masai Prince saved her from being killed.

The Masai Tribe came to the coast to meet the mermaid who saved their tribe, yet they were surprised to see she wasn't alone at the time. Her people wanted to thank the Masai Prince for saving their princess, yet no one was more thankful King Jelani. Meanwhile, Farashuu was getting to know the Maasai Prince who saved her. his name was Sironka. What both tribes didnt know was they were secretly seeing each other from time to time.

Both the kings decided that Farashuu and Sironka will be betrothed, yet from the expression on their face they were happy. The day of the wedding was indeed a sad day, Farashuu was crying for she had to leave her home, yet it wouldn't be for long. For in their customs the daughter will return to the sea for fall and winter, yet she will come back during the spring and summer. Tears in her eyes, Queen Kichaka told her daughter this.

"Farashuu, don't let anyone tell you what you should do for happiness. You are the one who decided what you think is right, never change yourself to please anyone else. It takes courage to stand up for what you think is right, for you father taught you that lesson as well as I have. Never change your decision to fit someone else rules...I love you my dear." Farashuu kissed her mother good bye as she went to her soon to be husband.

Farashuu made a great wife to Sironka, yet she was wise and loving. Soon, Farashuu returned to the water during fall. Giving her husband her pearl bracelet she dived back into the sea. However, her mother noticed something right away.

"Farashuu, You are indeed pregnant my dear. You have made Sironka a fine wife, I am proud of you." Sadly, this did not bring good news for the Maroon Kingdom.

When the Arabian Sea heard the news it was an insult, Suki was the mermaid princess and holder of the Red Pearl. She as the predecessor to Maya. What was so damage to her view? The Maroon Pearl Kingdom saw a new pearl form, and that was not supposed to happen. For mermaid princesses born in straits aren't supposed to gain a new pearl, or pass one on.

a damaging war broke out between the Maroon and Red Kingdom, surprisingly the Maroon kingdom won the war. Sadly, this did not come without a price. Suki placed a curse upon the child to be born, when the new child is here she will be able to be a mermaid in the Mozambique Strait and travel on land. However once she enters a new body of water that is not the Mozambique Strait, she will. be able to breath under water, yet she will look human.

Farashuu knew that Suki was quite a vengeful person, yet if she had to do it all over again she would choose the same out come every time. She asn never going to change her decision for others rules. Farashuu knew about the curse but didnt care, for she was brave enough the change the way mermaid princesses in the Strait choose to go with their faith.
